Zusammenfassung:
Catalyst tubes in steam reformers are made of high-alloy spun cast materials. One of the most important material properties for steam reformer tubes is the creep rupture strength as it determines the tube lifetime. <br>Schmidt + Clemens performed an intensive development program with the ultimate objective to obtain a material with superior stress rupture strength and creep resistance in order to improve the performance and productivity of steam reformers. The result is the alloy Centralloy® G 4852 Micro R. <br>To achieve the best creep properties, stringent and specific quality control and quality assurance of the casting and melting processes have been implemented. The program involved different research and development projects in order to optimize the key element composition, the nanoscale particle distribution, size, morphology and long-term stability with time.<br> Investigation results are presented as well as a number of advantages and operational benefits provided by the alloy Centralloy® G 4852 Micro R.
