Titel: Kinetics of Wustite Reduction with H2 and CO in presence of Catalysts separated from the Wustite

Zusammenfassung:
The catalytic influence of cobalt, graphite, nickel, iron and iron-sulfur mixture with 0.5 wt.% S on the reduction of wustite with hydrogen and carbon monoxide is described based on measurements carried out upon varying the following parameter: temperature (1183 to 1263 K), H2 and CO pressure (1 to 3 mbar) and the wustite-catalyst distance (0.5 to 1.5 mm). The reduction rate increases by decreasing the wustite-catalyst distance. The accelerating effect of catalysts is attributed to translationally excited H2 and CO molecules emitted from the surface of the catalysts.
